Still not Interested?

Question for the day: In the light of Herschel's admin nomination, is the Masked Template Guru regretting his decision to deny wanting to be an admin? Surely he would have been first choice without that post and without his Joram excursion?

Wow - that second link is to my second ever post. How time flies!

  1. Obviously you didn't believe me the first time, but since you ask again, I really *don't* want to be an Admin. I've said this repeatedly to several people since that post. I don't believe I would be a good choice for Admin on several counts, not the least of which is that I don't always have the energy for it.

My offer to take on the position was only because I felt there might be a shortfall at the time and I was willing to help out if needed. I repeated that same offer to GuildKnight a month or so ago, but reiterated in the same breath that it wasn't something I felt I was the right person for or had energy for, and that I would probably stick to helping out with the more administrative tasks if I did take on the role.

Having Krusty take it on actually reassures me, since I know I'll be able to focus back on the template revamping once the spring blahs go away (spring allergies really aggravate the chronic fatigue syndrome and leave me tired, which is why I haven't been editing/patrolling much lately) and not have to worry about whether I might be asked to take on other duties as well.

  2. Fair enough. I can't say I totally believe that, but I don't have any evidence apart from that one post to suggest otherwise.

  3. I won't deny there's a part of me that would like to be an Admin - you're right about that to a point - but appraising myself realistically, there are definitely better choices for the job.

  4. Sounds like you ought to talk to TGD about it. He spent the better part of a year whining about how he hated doing it before he was sacked. Err.... I mean, resigned totally of his own free will.
