Where are the Idiots?

People who can do advanced maths like counting (you can stop reading now, Anarchasshole) may be wondering why this blog has slowed down so much. The answer is simple. The hypocrisy that had become standard on UESP seems to have disappeared.

I know that correlation doesn't imply causation but you can't escape the fact that since Rawtwat the Vicious, ^CEshe^V and Elliot the Thick stopped posting, things have been much quieter. Sure we now have Anarchasshole, but he's so obviously an idiot and has no power that there's no sustained amusement to be had.

If the situation continues, maybe I'll have to give up the blog? I know some of you will claim this a good thing, but I'm afraid the thousands (no exaggeration) of weekly viewers would be disappointed.

Elliot! Since I know you're reading, how about making what you consider a sensible post somewhere on the site? Given previous form, it's bound to be so idiotic that you'll give me another day's posts.

  1. Why did you avoid mentioning rpeh's return? Tempers cooled when the administration decided to drop their case against rpeh.

The rpeh-Joram combination is also bringing about positive changes, especially in the Template namespace.

I believe that we owe this "Era of Good Feelings" to rpeh.

  2. Rpeh, aka Tiber Septim, failed to mention it because it would be seen as a praise of himself.

    MDS, just shut up already.

  3. I've been honestly surprised by how much stuff rpeh has been doing, and a lot of it has been useful. Joram also seems like a useful addition to the site.

I suppose that you could argue when the hypocrites like Eshe, Ratwar and Elliot realised they were in a minority and that most active users wanted rpeh back, they decided to play a less active role in the site. Whatever the reason, it's a much better site without them.

  4. Yes. They were the ones claiming to be protecting the site when, as you can see, all they were doing was harming it. Useful contributors were being scared away by the policy violations and intimidation that those three employed.

  5. Right, and rpeh's countless violations, threats, and harassments have been a really great help to the site. Really phenomenal argument you've got going for you there. Very *simple* logic.

And if you haven't been able to figure out who Joram really is by now, you're dumber that I thought.

  6. I be dumb. I wish to be imparted with your smarts. So who is Joram really?

  7. Apart from telling Anarchasshole to go away, which Timenn also did and seems perfectly fair to me, I don't know what "violations, threats, and harassments" you mean, Elliot. You're the one who does that.

Joram isn't Nephele or Aristeo, don't be stupid. He's good with templates, but not THAT good, and Aristeo was never much of a template guy. I can't help wondering if he's some other user under a new name, but he's not those two.

  8. How would you know Aristeo?

  9. I don't know him but I've seen what he did on the site. Yes he wrote templates, but they were all the very simple kind, like breadcrumb trails.

Aristeo last appeared on UESP on January 3, 2010. On that same day, Aristeo created an Encyclopedia Dramatica account and edited the UESP article.

One would have to wonder how Aristeo found the ED article. Was he tipped on the UESP IRC? Was it through a simple Google search? Or perhaps he discovered it by viewing this blog.

Since Aristeo discovered the UESP article, then one must assume that he knows about the drama that occurred on UESP and about this blog.

If Aristeo discovered the drama and this blog, one must wonder whether Aristeo is planning anything? Is he just sitting there, or is he taking action?

Nevertheless, there isn't any evidence (that I'm aware of) that Aristeo is taking any action.

In addition, I haven't found any evidence that would suggest that Joram is a previous UESP user. If Joram is Nephele, then why does Joram always seek rpeh's advise or approval for Template changes?

Also, "User:Nephele" is probably the second most powerful account on UESP. Nephele had server and database access. What would be Nephele motive for creating a second account? Exactly how would Nephele benefit from creating a second account?

Personally, I believe that Joram learned about Templates from Wikipedia or from some other wiki.

So, do you have any evidence to support your "Joram is Nephele or Aristeo" theory?

  11. Nothing, Elliot? Come on - show us the proof.

  12. Right. Of course not. Don't change the subject, where is your proof?

  13. Either provide proof or go away. Stop trolling because I'll just delete your comments from now on.

  14. Stop trolling? Says the troll himself.

  15. No. You don't understand the meaning of the term. I am posting on my own blog. I'm not trying to annoy users on any other site - if UESP users don't want to read my blog, they don't have to. You, on the other hand, are making stupid comments with no merit in a pathetic attempt to annoy people.

If you continue, your comments will be removed. Now. Where is your proof - or even evidence?

  16. Let's just say I have a hunch. And deleting my comments does nothing to me. I will comment 10 times for each one deleted.

I kid, that would take time. And I hardly care about some pencil pushing virgin on some blog.

  17. You have somce fascination with Elliot. Sounds like you are jealous.

And drop the idea that I am Elliot. It just makes you sound paranoid.

  18. The poor style of writing and endless stream of denials is far too much like Elliot to be coincidence.

  19. He has no proof, it's just hunches like he said. Joram does seem pretty knowledgeble, but he asks for rpeh's help all the time, which means he obviously thinks rpeh is in charge (and doesn't know much about the UESP site). The comments about Aristeo making plans or taking action are just stupid- why can't a simple explanation is that he reads ED and maybe checks for new pages?

Anyway, the internet is not a soap opera: they're aren't any plans, or schemes, or conspiracy theories. The UESP site needs someone to control it, needs editors to run it, and needs readers to read it. You have appointed yourself to document UESP's drama and hypocrisy, a job that doesn't need to be done, but what makes a hilarious and sometimes truthful endeavor nonetheless. I believe we may see more if Elder Scrolls 5 comes out, but it is your decision if you want to stop writing. We'll miss reading :)

  20. Thank you for your kind comments!

I don't think Joram believes rpeh is in charge. He has posted in places like the Community Portal and Admin Noticeboard so I think he knows there are Higher Powers.

Rpeh was the only one doing much with templates so I think it's natural that anybody else interested in them would ask him for help.

Joram certainly knows about the "chain of command". He has even left messages for DaveH, so he knows that DaveH has the ability to change the MediaWikia configuration.
